The Orange Park Amateur Radio club is pleased to announce the upcoming installation of a Vertex 7000 UD GRMS repeater.
The repeater is to be installed at the Orange Park Hospital at a future date.
The repeater is on 462.625rx 467.625tx pl 151.4. This is a standard repeater frequency with standard tones.
The repeater has a .5sec tail with courtesy tone/beep.
As the repeater is testing different features may appear or disappear. A CW id will be added soon.
The repeater is going through a testing phase at this time. The repeater is on the air at Chuck’s house (KA3EHL).
Note: The antenna (7dbi gain) is only about 15ft off the ground, you can expect to hit the repeater from the Walmart on Blanding Blvd to CSX rail road and as far south as Thrasher-Horn Center and as far north as St Johns County Day School.
Your results may vary depending on the height of your antenna and the amount of power you are using.
So far only one report of a conversation was between Fleming Island and the repeater on a mobile using 20w.
If your out and about Chuck is usually in the shack listening to the repeater between 1900 and 2030 most nights.
Reports of hitting the repeater can be forwarded to Chuck at
chuckmetro@msn.com.
Chuck maybe available during other times by request.
